Amazon Rivers Hit Record Lows, Threatening Life and Livelihoods
By RT News
Water levels in numerous rivers across the Amazon basin have plummeted to their lowest recorded levels, creating a critical situation for both human and animal life.
The shrinking water supply, both in quantity and quality, is severely impacting local communities that rely on rivers for transportation and resources.
The unprecedented drought has also led to a spike in dolphin deaths, with over 100 recorded in Lake Tefe alone last year.
Brazil’s Geological Service has issued an urgent warning about the severity of the situation.
